The Nightingale's New Song published
I am very excited to announce the publication of The Nightingale's New Song: A Black Woman's Poetic Notes. This is the first book in the Journal of the Caribbean Nightingale book series. It's an anthology of poetry and prose, which took me over 4 years to write. It took me another year to decide whether or not to publish because its content was so personal and was meant as my own means to cope with major life-changing events, such as the loss of my youngest child, in addition to intimate partner abuse... After I made the decision to share my story, I chose to self-publish, and boy, was that a lot of work!
Lift Every Voice (Fusion)
Fusion is directed by a fellow artist and paternal figure Benjamin Cabey. It will be my privilege to perform one of my favorite poems "I am Woman!" (from The Nightingale's New Song)

The Vagina Monologues (University of Utah)
The Vagina Monologues is a woman empowerment play written by Eve Ensler. It is showcased throughout many US university campuses in the month of February. It is an honor for me to perform among other talented artists on the University of Utah campus. It is such an eye opening experience for me. I will be giving voice to a Southern Black woman in the short piece "The Little Coochi Snorcher."
I am flattered that I have been invited once more to perform for PANDOS, to commemorate Earth Day. For the event, "Folklore in Honor of Water," I'll be representing my homeland, Haiti, and reading a new fun piece "The Beauty that is my Body," especially written for this performance.
